Wellness at School

In order to achieve the goal of minimizing the spread of communicable disease at school the following criteria may be considered reasons to keep a child hone from school. 

  • Acute phase of cold/upper respiratory infection (cough and nasal drainage).
  • Elevated temperature – students can return to school after 24 hours fever-free without meds.
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Undiagnosed rashes.
  • Untreated conjunctivitis or “pink eye”.
  • Untreated Impetigo or pediculosis (head lice).
  • If antibiotic therapy is needed, the student should remain home for the first 24 to 48 hours of therapy.

P.A.L. (Protect a Life) Table

Please encourage your student with life-threatening food allergies sit at the PAL tables in the cafeteria during lunch.  Students may have a friend join them if a seat is available.  The friend’s lunch must be free of foods that need to be avoided, such as peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, fish, berries, etc.
